Full-Time 30-40 hours/week
Compensation: $15.25/hr (Part time ) — $16.00/-$16.50hr (Full Time)
Purpose: Shift Leaders are essential to the daily operation of all FOH staff. Shift leaders are responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, welcoming, and well-appointed environment for staff and customers. Support exceptional standards of service by overseeing FOH processes and procedures and communicating directly with BOH. The position suits reliable, positive, and detail-oriented team players whoare fulfilled by helping the collective excel and serving their community.

Job Description: As a High-Volume Roastery/Cafe lead you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the shift operations of our coffee bar working closely with kitchen staff and customer needs. You will be responsible for coordinating a team of 2 or more dedicated staff members on shift, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and inspire staff to achieve excellence in their roles.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular re-training to develop the skills and knowledge of team members.
Production and Quality Control:
Oversee the presentation of a wide variety of bakery items, including, pastries, pies, savory while maintaining consistency and quality.
Develop and implement standardized recipes, production processes, and quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of taste, appearance, and freshness.
Monitor inventory levels, ingredient quality, and product freshness to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
Operational Efficiency:
Manage operations to meet or exceed established productivity and efficiency targets.
Optimize workflow and scheduling to accommodate fluctuating demand and ensure timely and quality delivery of menu items.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and efficient resource utilization practices to enhance profitability.
Customer Service and Satisfaction:
Collaborate with other departments, to fulfill customer orders and requests in a timely and efficient manner.
Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction by consistently delivering high-quality coffee, bakery products and exceptional service.
Address customer feedback and concerns promptly and effectively, striving to exceed their expectations at every opportunity.
Qualifications:
Proven experience 1+ years in a similarly supportive role, working directly with management. Experience with food-service/hospitality preferred but not required.
1-2 years of experience working with us as Barista 1 or equivalent and have displayed mastery over responsibilities and skills. Attendance at 6 palette development/barista training seminars held on site.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and empower team members to achieve their full potential.
Solid understanding of coffee as a value-added commodity and specialty product including sourcing, processing, roasting, and preparation. Food-service related processes and procedures including ingredients, allergens, cross-contamination, plant-based food/milk and food safety.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple demands simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members, customers, suppliers, and others as needed.
Flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the business.
