Two-time Olympic gold-medalist, record setting Ethiopian long distance runner, Haile Gebrselassie, owns the Haile Coffee estate. Haile values excellence, friendship, and respect for "the whole of the natural environment". More than 13% of the estate's land is preserved forest, through which two rivers run, and the rest is divided into 46 plots of organically-grown, Rainforest-Alliance certified coffee.
